For several years I've wanted to be on a Hawaiian-Continental US red eye flight to see the Milky Way undisturbed by light pollution. I got the chance on UA1110 OGG-LAX, although not completely dark (w/ Venus, the NAV light, and a satellite trail at the top). Before the flight I researched which window aligns w/ the tray table, and chose 12F, where I mounted my camera on a small tripod, fitted with my homemade reflection blocker (black oval paper), woke myself at 2:20am (Hawaii time) and got this photo.

International Space Station transiting the moon above Polydendri area, near Athens. The distance between ISS and the observing area was 438,68 km. This is the first image from the three I managed to capture with my camera as the transiting time was just 0.53 sec. Transition time and related data were obtained from the website transit-finder.com.
