Caption
Museo de Aeronáutica y Astronáutica, Madrid - A Douglas DC-3B which entered service with the Spanish Air Force in 1962. It saw service with the 37th Wing, the school of paratroopers and the Gando (Gran Canaria). In 1975 it was used with the sapper-Parachutists Squadron in the Sahara operations. She was decommissioned in 1970, and subsequently joined the museums collection in 1977.

Boeing rolled out the restored/repaired Stratoliner on 13 June 2003’, in time to appear at EAA Air Venture 2003. (Ref NASM website.) The ‘Connie’ dwarfs a ‘Lighty’ parked at rear. [Two Aviation Enthusiasts on my 2003 USA Aviation Tour flew in this aircraft from Portland Oregon to Oshkosh late in July 2003.] The C-121A undertook a Europe Airshow tour in 1998, and finished up on static display in South Korea.

Front Port-side view of Ford Trimotor NC8407 MSN 4-AT-69 taxying out at Oshkosh KOSH Wisconsin early in Aug 2003 (EAA Air Venture 2003). The EAA operated aircraft, Built 1929, has grey corrugated metal skin (with blue nose and lower fuselage) and wears ‘Eastern Air Transport Inc’ livery. I had the good fortune to do a 0.2 hour joyflight in this aircraft from Dayton KDAY Ohio on 19Jul2003. The Ticket Price was just US$40.
